Nigerian Defence Academy Announces Screening Test of Shortlisted Applicants

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has officially scheduled the screening test for applicants shortlisted for the 77 Regular Course to take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025. This announcement comes following a brief postponement of the initial date due to the rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in some regions.

The postponement was necessary to accommodate candidates affected by the UTME rescheduling, ensuring they are not disadvantaged in the NDA’s selection process. NDA’s Director of Military Training, Maj. Mohammed Maidawa, confirmed that the decision to set the new date followed careful coordination with relevant examination bodies and a review of candidate logistics.

Shortlisting for the screening test was conducted based on candidates’ performance in the 2025 UTME, using official results forwarded to the Academy by JAMB. This standard is consistent with the NDA’s commitment to transparency and merit in its selection procedures. Only candidates whose names appear on the NDA’s official shortlist are eligible to sit for the screening test.

Applicants are advised to visit the NDA’s official application portal at www.ndaapplications.net to confirm their shortlisting status. The portal provides access to screening test information, including designated examination centres, reporting times, and requirements for the test day. Candidates are urged to ensure they have all mandatory documents in order, including their Acknowledgement Form, UTME result slip, and identification.

In cases where candidates experience difficulties accessing the portal, the NDA recommends checking back periodically as network congestion may cause temporary inaccessibility. Those not shortlisted are encouraged to verify their UTME results with JAMB to ensure there are no discrepancies or issues in the data transmitted to the NDA.

The NDA reiterated that only candidates who meet all eligibility requirements and are formally invited will be allowed to participate in the screening test. Any applicant found attempting to gain unauthorized access or present false information may be disqualified. This stance underscores the Academy’s zero-tolerance policy for academic or procedural fraud.

Candidates are also reminded that success in the screening test does not guarantee admission into the NDA. It is merely one phase of a multi-stage selection process that includes physical and medical assessments, as well as an intensive final selection interview. Those who pass the screening test will be subsequently contacted for the next phase of evaluation.

The NDA emphasized that communication with candidates will only be conducted through official channels, and applicants should beware of fraudsters or unverified third parties claiming to offer assistance. The Academy does not authorize any agent or intermediary to act on its behalf in matters relating to admission.

For regular updates and clarifications, applicants are encouraged to monitor the NDA’s official website, www.nda.edu.ng, and its verified social media pages. These platforms will provide timely information about screening logistics, centre-specific updates, and other admission-related announcements.

The Nigerian Defence Academy remains committed to producing well-trained officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria and continues to uphold high standards in its recruitment and training processes. The Academy encourages all prospective cadets to prepare adequately, conduct themselves responsibly, and approach the screening process with discipline and integrity.
